Hollywood action star Vinnie Jones, whose credits include such international hits as “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, “Gone in Sixty Seconds” and “X-Men: The Last Stand”, and who recently finished shooting in “The Tomb” opposite Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, joined the cast of an outrageous “The Hangover” meets “Snatch” action-comedy-thriller “Flight Redirected”, directed by Emilis Velyvis (Zero 2).
“Flight Redirected” tells the story of four friends - John, Ben, Tim and Michael – turned first-time robbers, who, through a series of misadventures, get stranded in an Eastern European country and have to find their way back home. To do so, they’ll have to overcome smugglers, hit men, cheap beer, whores, dirty cops and fantasies, all the while rediscovering each other as friends.
An international cast also includes Russian cinema star Artur Smolyaninov and British actors Scot Williams, Gil Darnell, Oliver Jackson, and Antony Strachan. Shooting began on 23 July.
“Flight Redirected” is a Lithuanian/UK coproduction, produced by Kino Kultas and Meed Films (both LT) and UK’s Wellington Films Ltd., with producers Asta Liukaityte, Donatas Zvalionis, Alastair Clark and Rachel Robey (the latter two responsible for the hit British films “London to Brighton” (2006) and “Crying with Laughter” (2009)).
Backed by the National Film Support program at the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania and by private investors, the international release of “Flight Redirected” is planned for February 2014.
